Bas Rutten Interview Up close and personal with Bas Rutten
by Hody Jae Huh

I lost a fight early in my career and I knew why -- I didn't have any grappling experience. So after the last time that I lost (to Ken Shamrock), I told myself to start training two times a day ONLY submissions. I never lost anymore after that. So you actually learn a lot from the fight that you lose, that is, if you are smart. I mean, if you lose by an arm-bar, it would not be smart to loose again the same way, now would it? I would train so hard so that wouldn't happen again. So the last fight against Ken Shamrock ... [read more]

Don't Train To Failure Don't Train To Failure
by priest943

Many people think you have to train a muscle to failure to make it grow. Why is that? When you lift a weight muscle fibers fire off to move the weight more are called into play each rep. From the first rep fibers have already hit failure that's why more we called into play for the 2nd rep. The body will try to conserve as much as possible say you fail on the 8th rep that just means there weren't enough fibers in reserve to call up for a 9th rep it doesn't mean you have fully worked the whole muscle to failure ... Little Evil: A Fighter's Rise to the Top Little Evil Book Review
by Muay Thai Guy

I was given this book as a Christmas present by a man who is a great friend and also a huge Jens Pulver fan. He decided I needed to know more about his favourite fighter and have an insight of just how much some people need to get to the top of their sport to exorcise their demons, to prove to their friends, family and mostly to themselves that they have what it takes to make something of their lives and what it takes to follow a dream! So what exactly does make a ... [read more]
