Zepp Deep Osaka, Official Weigh-Ins
by Hody Jae Huh, IronLife.com Staff Writer & Mod

Official Poster

A unique event will be held tomorrow (Sunday the 06th) in Osaka, Japan – Zepp Deep. Deep is an up and coming Japanese MMA event that has notable fighters like Jutaro Nakao, Seichi Ikemoto, Mishima, and Chonan. While Chonan will not be fighting in tomorrows event, Nakao, Ikemoto, and Mishima will be. This event will be different than past ones. The event is being geared towards non MMA fans. I’ve been told that it will be a cross between a rock concert, music video, and MMA event. Confused? So am I. Unfortunately, there’s not much information available. I was hard pressed to even get the names of the fighters. I did learn that the rules will be similar to Pride, however, inactivity on the ground will result in the fighters being stood back up. They are hoping that this event will be faster paced and more action packed, as to appeal to non MMA fans.

Here’s an unofficial fight card list. All the names have been translated* as best as possible with the limited information that was provided. The names may or may not be spelled correctly. All information was originally in Japanese and Kanji (Chinese characters).

1. Anthony Metzler (Team Boon) vs. Chae Jhun Gyu (Spirits MC)
2. Terada, Isao (G Squared) vs. Takinishi (CMA Kyoto)
3. Tsuyoshi Kurihara (Team Roken) vs. Mitsutaka Tanimura (S-Factory Kobe Okamura gym)
4. Ken Hamamura (CMA Kyoto) vs. Binishus Takahashi (Team Mugen)
5. Mishima vs. Suji Yuka (female) (Exhibition match)
6. Jutaro Nakao (Freelance) vs. Kyosuke Sasaki (U-file camp.com)
7. Seichi Ikemoto (Lailutsu Conan) vs. Daisuke Nakamura (U-file camp.com)

Weigh in Pics:
(I tried to identify as many of the fighters as possible. No press packet was available and no pictures were available on the promotions homepage). *Mishima and Suji Yuka were not present at the weigh ins since their match is an exhibition.
