"Bring the Pain" was about as accurate a name for AX Fighting Championship 3 as could be, and only 2 of the 8 bouts lasted their entire duration.
Although you might not recognize many of these fighters, all of them had the crowd roaring in appreciation in this fantastic night of Pankration, Kick Boxing, and Muay Thai.
In total there were 8 matches, and a youth submission grappling exhibition which turned out to be the highlight of the evening. These two kids put up a great show of skill including takedowns, submissions and reversals. In the end the crowd gave both a standing ovation and Zeke Williams was named "Fighter of the Night".
Buck Bisbey defeated "Dangerous" Dustin Nicholson in only 45 seconds of the first round. Referee Joe Derobbio yanked Bisbey away from a thoroughly outclassed Nicholson, who after talking trash to Bisbeys trainers, and Bisbey himself, turned out to be "all show, no go". As a side note, at one point in time I actually had to pull Bisbey away from Nicholson and his trash talking during Bisbey's warm-up, as I thought the fight might never reach the ring!
In a first match for both fighters, Clay Skaggs lost to Jeff Kelley by nodding out after the first round. Kelley, who's trainer said after the fight "I don't believe it, the kid never punches" spent the majority of the round pounding on Skaggs head with fists of fury. Skaggs, to his credit, kept his composure throughout, and caught Kelley in two clean armbars, the first Kelley escaped, and the second interrupted by the end of the round. In the end, Skaggs just didn't have the energy to continue.
Team Quest fighter Elijah Fay lost to Tim Abell by way of a crushing left that bounced Fay's head off the canvas, knocking him out instantly.
Kickboxing- Dennis Sitchaisai defeated Sterling Goin by TKO referee stoppage from unanswered punches at 0:57 of round 2.
