Number One: Always, always eat at least 5 times a day. So many people, when they hear this, think each of these meals is too consist of 4 courses each. In actuality, two of these meals should be thought of as healthy snacks.

For example : Breakfast ; healthy snack ; Lunch; healthy snack ; Dinner ; then Protein only before bed .

Number Two:Drink tons of water. Not only will it help fill you up, but it will act as a natural diuretic. Your thinking you will blow up like a water balloon, but in essence, you will look and feel lighter .

Number Three: Eliminate all junk food . Avoid fast food restaurants like the plague. And avoid processed foods that usually contain high levels of sodium, fat and sugar. The sugar normally comes from simple sugars we don’t need, and the fats are usually the saturated types. And the sodium is the water-retaining type. Why tempt a unwanted bloat?

Number Four: When you sit down and plan your meal, ask yourself what will you be doing the next few hours? If its nothing but reading a book or watching television, then keep your carbs low. But if your planning a workout or some other type of physical activity, then up the carbs somewhat.

Number Five: Avoid fad diets. They seem to be quick fixes that don’t last a long time. Take the time to plan your meals in advance . Not easily done, but the only sure way to make the lifestyle change to a healthier way of eating and living . And something you can follow day in and day out.

Number Six: Things to Avoid : Refined breads, cereals and pastas. Avoid butter, gravies, mayonnaise, fried foods. Also dried or canned fruit in sugar. Avoid oil packed fish and meats and take non diet sodas off your shopping list.

Eating right takes time and planning, but the rewards will far outweigh the trouble in preparing.
