The Greatest Of Samkor - DVD Review
by Muay Thai Guy, Admin @ www.IronLife.com & Team IronLife.com Writer

“dvd" Samkor Kiatmonteap is a name many fans of Muay Thai will instantly recognize. Samkor has earned himself quite a solid reputation as a fighter both in Thailand and abroad due to his fighting style and record. Samkor's claim to fame is his left kick, possibly pound for pound the hardest kick in the world. So watching Samkor with his Power Kicks and Kneeing skills in the clinch, coupled with the fact that he seems to have a never ending supply of energy, makes him an exciting fighter to watch.

Samkor has made his name famous by breaking records with the amount of kicks he can do on the Thai pads at any one time. Anyone who saw the video clip of him do that was left in awe.

So it is no surprise that Thailand have now released a DVD of his "Greatest Hits"

“dvd"
The name of the DVD is somewhat misleading as it is not a clip reel of his greatest fights but a compilation of 3 full fights, which I wouldn't say were his greatest fights but are exciting to watch none the less. The DVD includes two fights between Samkor and Nontachai Keatwanlop and one fight with Tongthai p. Boorapa.

The fight action itself is good. There's plenty of technique and action in the fights however, If you're after KOs than this DVD will disappoint you. If you are a fan of Samkor or Muay Thai and love to watch fights with technique that are typical to Thai fights in Thailand than this DVD will satisfy your hunger for Muay Thai adequately.

The quality of the DVD itself is excellent. The clarity of the video is good. The sound however, whilst good quality, has its drawbacks. Firstly, the Thai commentator unfortunately can be very annoying (though many think she is very good looking so you might want to let her off )

The music itself sounds reminiscent of an old Amiga or Atari ST Video game but if you can overlook those two minor drawbacks then you'll enjoy the DVD.

“dvd" All in all, I was somewhat disappointed when the DVD arrived as it only had 3 full fights. It's one of those DVDs where you'll watch one or two times and it will remain in your collection to admire/gather dust. Is it worth $30 odd? Well If you're a Muay Thai fan then it can be a justified purchase, especially if you are a fan of Samkor. If you are a fight fan who loves KOs then you'll be disappointed.

A bit hit and miss but still a good purchase for Muay Thai fans as there are not a lot of DVD's out on the market

Overall: 7/10
