Miguel Cotto destined for greatness

Cotto so far is perhaps the best prospect I have seen for a long time, not just because of his boxing skills and power, but also because of his mentality. I'm just waiting for him to be tested

Right now, the two best prospects fro the Olympic class have been Jeff Lacy and Miguel Cotto. Lacy is a power punching yet at times skillful boxer, who in his most recent match showed that he could box for 10 rounds and come out on top. The irony of Cottos ascent is that originally, many considered Cotto to be an inferior prospect to Francisco "Panchito" Bojado and Mohamad Abdullaev who have both been somewhat exposed recently. Panchito for being lazy when it comes to training and Abdullaev for having a weak chin. Unlike Lacy, Cotto is in a stacked divsion full of sharks such as Tszyu, Judah, Corley, Mitchell and potentially Mayweather. Cotto is a talented kid but I'll need to see alot more from him to be convinced that he can potentially beat some of the names on the list down the road.

Lacy is a bit too wound up for me. He seems very "tight" when he fights. He needs to let it all hang out a little more. Cotto is going to be a force to be reckoned with. He absolutely abuses everyone he fights.

Being a tight, crisp boxer is hardly a flaw. When Lacy loosens up his punches get loopy and sloppy. Cotto will be good but to say he'll rise to the top of arguably the best division in boxing is awfully premature.
