UFC President Dana White comes out to the ring to announce UFC 57 for the highly anticipated rubber match with Chuck Liddell vs. Randy Couture III for the UFC LHW Championship Title.
Chuck and Randy are in the ring too and Dana announces that tickets go on sale November 20, 2005. Dana also announces that Frank Mir is going to fight Andre Arlovski for the UFC HW Championship Title in 2006 and tells both of them to come into the ring. Dana now makes the big announcement. Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock are the new TUF Season 3 coaches. The crowd is going crazy for Ken while they're not so sassy for Tito. There is a mini-scuffle between Tito and Ken to hype up the season 3 in the ring. Dana makes another big announcement as well. B.J. Penn is returning and is officially signed with the UFC now. |

GSP is talking to the audience now with his French accent and the crowd is amused by the sound of the accent. GSP apologizes for his English.
GSP wants a rematch with Hughes and gets down on his knees in marriage fashion and begs the UFC management for a rematch. |

Round 1
In a suprising twist of events, Joe Riggs looks visibly bigger physically than Matt Hughes. The round starts. Both are feeling each other out so far. Hughes shoots in for a takedown but Joe is having none of it. Matt throws a high kick. Riggs answers back with his own kick but its blocked. Hughes throws a middle kick that lands on the liver of Riggs. Matt shoots again and manages to take down Joe. Matt passes the guard of Joe and gets to half-guard. Both are not doing that much, but Hughes throws a couple body shots to compensate. Hughes goes for a kimura attempt but Riggs gets out of it. Riggs looks like he wants a restart on their feet. Hughes again goes for the kimura and locks it on and taps out Riggs. Winner is Hughes by submission- Round 1 |

It looked like Joe wasn't there in the fight. I'm guessing he lost a lot of motivation, focus, and concentration because of the weigh-ins yesterday.
He seemed like he didn't care about the fight at all. |
